Dr. Lee Pierce Receives Second National Communication Association Award

Dr. Lee Pierce’s “A Rhetoric of Traumatic Nationalism in the Ground Zero Mosque Controversy” has won the NCA Critical Cultural Studies Division’s best article award. In addition to this honor, Lee will be recognized at the National Communication Association Convention this year for winning the Stephen E. Lucas Debut Publication Award for the same article, which appeared in a 2014 edition of the Quarterly Journal of Speech. 

Lee will officially receive the award at the NCA Awards Presentation (following the NCA Presidential Address) at this year's conference. All are welcome to attend the ceremony on Saturday, November 21 at 5:00 PM in Amazon G of the Rio Conference Center in Las Vegas, NV. A hearty congratulations from the department, Lee!
