After earning a B.A. in French/ Political Science from Georgia State University, Clay Stewart began pursuing an M.A. in Communication Studies, with a research focus on speech pedagogy and political advocacy. As an active member of the Atlanta Urban Debate League, Clay's research interests are strongly influenced by years of outreach, including teaching public speaking/ debate to inner-city students and academic assistance programs for first-generation college students.
In addition to his teaching duties, Clay is a Graduate Assistant Coach at the Georgia Debate Union, the University of Georgia's competitive policy debate team, where he hopes to bring a unique perspective to the team's longstanding culture of competitive success.
Clay worked with Emory University to run a college bridge program to prepare inner-city students for college applications.
