Heather Cohen is an accelerated Ph.D. student in Interpersonal and Family Communication. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Communication Studies at the University of Florida, and then went on to earn her Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Georgia.  

Heather's research interests include grief communication in children and adolescents, family coping following traumatic and/or stressful events, and stigma perceptions towards vulnerable populations. She has taught a variety of class at UGA, including Introduction to Interpersonal Communication (COMM1500), Small Group Communication (COMM3600), and Advanced Interpersonal Communication (COMM4500).
