Taewook Ham is a Ph.D. student in Interpersonal and Health Communication. Prior to joining this program, he received his M.A. in Communication from San Diego State University, and his B.A. in Communication Studies from California State University, Chico.

Taewook’s research interests focus on health and dark side of communication. He is particularly interested in electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use in social media by using content analysis. He is also interested in the dark side of communication (e.g., cyberstalking) -- how people dealing with mental health issues. 

In addition to his research interests, he taught COMM 103: Oral Communication at San Diego State University. Taewook is now teaching COMM 1500: Introduction to Interpersonal Communication.

Taewook Ham is currently working on the unsupervised model (machine learning) of e-cigarette comments in YouTube.
