Tikica is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and Piedmont College, where she received her Bachelor’s (1997) and Master’s (2008) degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Finance, respectively.  She began her career at the University of Georgia 17 years ago after a brief period in commercial banking in the metropolises of Chicago, IL and Atlanta, GA.

From 1999-2004, Tikica served as Accountant in the Department of Accounting within the Controller’s Division.  Her responsibilities included processing all UGA journal vouchers, all intra-university payments and charges, establishing all UGA state accounts, producing UGA’s Chart of Accounts, and paying UGA’s sales tax and telephone bills which stem from all UGA departments.  She credits this department with giving her the widest scope of finance and administration at UGA.

In an effort to learn more about the vital field of contracts & grants at UGA, in 2005, Tikica began as Accountant in the Contracts & Grants Division.  There her responsibilities included producing billings and reports for grantors for approximately 400 accounts, serving as liaison to academic departments communicating award requirements and ensuring outlays were consistent with policy.

In 2006, Tikica was promoted to Senior Budget Analyst in the Business Office of the Terry College of Business.  It was there that Tikica became exposed to the inner workings of finance and administration within academic departments, as she was responsible for 66 Dean’s Office accounts of 14 sub-departments, requiring review and preparation of payroll, budget amendments, purchase requests, intra-university payments, check requests, journal vouchers, and various forms/requests/letters/memos and reports in a timely manner for compliance with UGA policies and procedures.

With experience spanning the widest range in Accounting within the Controller's Division to the specialty of Contracts & Grants to the Business Office of the Terry College of Business – it was invaluable to the promotion Tikica received in 2010 to Business Manager I of Germanic & Slavic Studies where her duties grew from purely financial to financial, academic, and beyond as Assistant to the Department Head and Manager of all administrative, financial, and human resource matters of the department.

Given her vast experience, Tikica has taken her new position as Business Manager II in Communication Studies and the growth it offers with 400+ majors, 35+ graduate students, and eccentricities such as the Georgia Debate Union by the helm - applying her signature combination of financial expertise and charm.
