Heather Cohen is an accelerated Ph.D. student in Interpersonal and Family Communication. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Communication Studies at the University of Florida, and then went on to earn her Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Georgia.
Heather's research interests include grief communication in children and adolescents, family coping following traumatic and/or stressful events, and stigma perceptions towards vulnerable populations. More recently, she was one of several students nominated by the University of Georgia for the "Who's Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges" national scholarship for her community work with bereaved children and dedication to academia. Heather has previously co-instructed Advanced Interpersonal Communication (COMM4500), and currently instructs Introduction to Interpersonal Communication (COMM1500).
