Mengfei Guan is a Ph.D. student in Interpersonal and Health Communication. Prior to joining this program, Mengfei earned her B.A. in English Language and Literature with a minor in Cultural Industry Management from Ocean University of China, and her M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama.
Mengfei's primary research focuses on health risk communication, particularly the effects of message framing and emotional appeals on risk perception and health-related outcomes. She is also interested in how social identity and social support influence health-related decision making. Mengfei currently teaches COMM 1500 Introduction to Interpersonal Communication. She has received the 2016 Outstanding Teaching Award at UGA.
