Yachao (Bruce) Li is a Ph.D. student in Interpersonal and Health Communication. He joined the doctoral program in 2015 after completing his M.A. in Communication Studies from Rutgers University, and his B.A. in Journalism from Communication University of China.
Yachao’s research interests focus on interpersonal and health communication in the context of same-sex relationships and family. He is particularly interested in how same-sex couples and their family members communicatively cope with various forms of conflicts that are uniquely attributed to same-sexual identity and orientation. He is also interested in the ways that relational power impacts couples' sexual behaviors and communication.
In addition to research, Yachao is now also teaching COMM1500 Introduction to Interpersonal Communication as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
