Dr. Aarum F. Youn-Heil is a lecturer of communication studies at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Her teaching interests are driven by using a critical and cultural lens to examine the relationships among media and society via social inequalities and entertainment media. A lot of her research inquiries came from questions and conversations from her daily interactions. Why is watching television so simple and fun but having conversations about what we see on screen so difficult even with those close to you? She uses these kinds of questions as foundations to facilitate discussion.

She teaches and guides undergraduate students in preparation for adverse interactions and difficult conversations in their daily lives. Her goal for students is to not just engage with and communicate about communication but to apply it to their success post-college confidently.

Dr. Youn-Heil is an avid watcher of TV and enjoys new adventures with old friends.
