Jennifer H. Waldeck (Ph.D., Communication, University of California, Santa Barbara) is Professor and Head, Dept. of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia.  She currently serves as President of the Eastern Communication Association, and Chair of its Finance and Publication Committees.  Prior to joining UGA, she served as Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Academic Programs in the School of Communication, Chapman University. 

 

A Distinguished Research Fellow of the Eastern Communication Association, Dr. Waldeck’s research interests span organizational, instructional, strategic, and applied communication.  She has written or co-authored eight books and 75 peer-reviewed articles and chapters.  Her research has been published in many prestigious outlets, including Communication Monographs, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Communication Education, Journal of Business Communication (now known as International Journal of Business Communication), Communication Yearbook (now known as Annals of the International Communication Association).  She has won “Top Paper” honors in Instructional Communication, Applied Communication, Organizational Communication, Training & Development, and Instructional Communication groups at ICA, NCA, and ECA over the years.  She has served on the editorial boards of Western Journal of Communication, Women’s Studies in Communication, Communication Studies, Communication Reports, Communication Education, Journal of Applied Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, and Communication Quarterly and an invited reviewer for Communication Monographs, Human Communication Research, and Journal of Communication.  She is a long-time advisory board member for The Teaching Professor, an interdisciplinary, international professional development publication and conference aimed at effectiveness in higher education.
