The Communication Studies department would like to congratulate Anastacia Janovec and Jessica Fabbricatore for their hard work and service to the department, recognizing both graduate students with the 2021 Jerold L. Hale award.

Communication Studies PhD student Elle Johnson has been named as a recipient of a Graduate School Dean's Award for her dissertation project. Johnson's dissertation is entitled "Avoiding the Pandemic: Investigating Changes in Stress Following Supportive Conversations about COVID-19".

The UGA CURO Research Symposium recognizes excellence in papers developed from work presented at each year's symposium. The 2021 Top Paper award in Arts, Humanities and Media goes to Mary Beth Dicks for her paper entitled "Recurring Tragedy: Gun Violence and the Presidential Rhetoric of Eulogy…

Georgia Debate Union is sponsoring a debate camp, in coordination with the Georgia Center. The camp will be virtual, running from 9am-3pm, July 12-16.

The Communication Studies department is proud to recognize Alex Morales, Rachel Bailey, Kesha James and Luke Christie, each of whom have been chosen as Outstanding Teaching Assistants by the Center for Teaching and Learning.
