UNCA/Lambda Pi Eta

Lambda Pi Eta

Wondering where a degree in communication studies can take you? Want to meet and network with communication professionals? Perhaps you want to build stronger connections with faculty and students? Have a desire to be a student leader?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are encouraged to consider joining the Undergraduate National Communication Association (UNCA). UNCA is open to any communication studies major or minor. Once accepted into the organization, you will join the ranks of UGA students who are determined to take their futures as communication professionals seriously. UNCA regularly hosts opportunities for meeting other students, getting to know faculty, networking with professionals, gaining access to career paths, and learning about the astonishing breadth of choices available to Communication Studies majors.

UNCA holds meetings on a regular basis and generally begins each semester with an information session. Announcements regarding UNCA meetings are made through the Communication Studies undergraduate listserv.

Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society

UNCA members may also apply to the National Communication Association's honor society, Lambda Pi Eta (LPH). Lambda Pi Eta is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. Successful applicants must meet the following two conditions:

  1. Complete 60 semester credit-hours, have a minimum GPA of at least 3.0 for all courses taken, and have at least a 3.25 GPA for all communication studies courses
  2. Complete the equivalent of 12 semester credit-hours in Communication Studies and currently be enrolled as a student in good standing, as determined by the institution's policies
